On the February 6, 2012 episode of  A Current Affair: Laser Treatment Warning, horror stories of IPL laser treatment that had gone terribly wrong were exposed.  The subject IPL laser treatment clients suffered infections, burns and worse at the hands of unqualified therapists.

It is important to note that the type of Laser that they were referring in this episode is IPL (Intense Pulse Light). Unlike the genuine Lasers (Alexandrite Laser, Nd Yag Lasers and Diode Lasers) we use at Nad's Laser Clinics, IPL devices are not recommended for hair removal as they emit various high intensity pulses of radiation defined by cut off *lters in a range between 600 and 1200 nanometres and lack the single concentrated wavelength precision of true lasers.

Recently, we posted an article about "What is Laser Hair Removal?" discussing laser hair removal in general and the different types of laser used in the laser hair removal industry. Notably, we mentioned that Nad's Laser Clinic don't use IPL.

We hope that you're not one of the victims of IPL described in both episodes of "A Current Affair".  If you noticed, both episodes described the same horror stories of IPL but different victims.  It just shows that for more than three years since it was last exposed, nothing has changed much for the industry.
